Arches 140# cold press, 100% rag paper, large sheets or pad
number 8 or 10 round watercolor brushes – good quality.


Paint is more complicated. You must get ARTIST GRADE, not student grade

Winsor Newton ARTIST colors: Permanent Rose (Cotman ok for this color), Winsor Blue GREEN shade (phthalo). Cadmium red, cadmium yellow, Permanent Yellow (OR lemon), French Ultramarine

Other brands: ARTIST, not student, grade only. You must look on labels to see ingredients used – not go by names of colors
These are: Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red, Phthalo Blue (often called other names), Ultramarine, and Quinacridone
