Work from home with encouragement and tutorials!More Basics for Watercolorists:
BOOK THREE There is no end to the many doorways into the understanding of the complex world of painting and being an artist. These articles take a variety of approaches to help students understand the world of art.
These articles from Watercolor Weekly, 2011 - 2012, give more basic advise to new students of watercolor. On the PDF document, there are some links that can be used when viewed on screen, to websites that show artwork being discussed. These are yellow highlighted titles to the articles, so just click on them for more information. The articles run the gamut from common mistakes made by new painters to thought processes that help artists move in the right direction: towards becoming an artist, but not always making paintings or selling them. This is because my teaching philosophy is that it is better to become an artist so that your entire life changes to a more enjoyable rhythm filled with insights and pleasure, rather than just learning the craft of painting. As time goes on, artists do begin to see the important difference between these two. Whether or not you ever want to show or sell artwork, the world of aesthetics is a world that opens up your mind to far more awareness of the natural world and the connections between human perceptions. You may print out this document for personal use, but for multiple copies, please contact me for prices at wendysoneson@gmail.com. |
