These small group classes at my studio are a chance to get personal attention and advance your skills. This series will focus on techniques of the masters. Rather than copy their work we will explore their methods and then paint from a photo in the style of the artist we are learning from. 

Advanced techniques of Charles Demuth.
 December 17, 2023. We will learn how Demuth incorporated some cubism into his work.  

Advanced techniques of Winslow Homer.
 January 6, 2024. Homer did fabulous high contrast watercolors. We will study his methods and try our hand at his approach 

Advanced techniques of John Singer Sargent.
 February 25, 2024. Although many of you have tried Sargent's painting techniques, we will go further into a study of his groundbreaking style of watercolor. 

Email for more information. Students bring their own supplies although I will have kits for sale. Class consists of a review of the artist's work, demonstrations of the methods, then discussion. and time to begin a project based of the artist's methods and messages. Students decide how much  of the session they wish to paint with guidance. Tea and light snacks provided. Often our discussion become quite lively. In any case, you will leave inspired, equipped with many new ideas for your work, and with new friends.
