The old post office is almost the same: same antique looking boxes where people turn the dials and pick up their mail: mail is not delivered in my old hometown. New postmistress but everything else is pretty much like when I used to pick up mail for my grandmother in the sixties. But I hear that on Saturday there will be a food truck with great food for sale: the All Aboard Cafe.
This and the local cafe and health food restaurant are making it possible for me not to cook or clean dishes for most of the summer. More time to paint and talk to friends and strangers about art.
I have reached my first goal of making enough money to pay my bills for the summer, through sales and teaching. If I make any more it can go into my California Here I Come fund. When this summer is over, I will start plotting my new project of chasing after my children and grandchildren in San Francisco.
Still hoping I don't have too many unsold paintings to bring back to Boston!
