Looks like I might be able to figure out photos on this blog from the traveling computer. This is the old homestead. This is the main farmhouse a few blocks from the Pennypack Creek where my grandfather Don Rose raised his 12 children. He was a writer and did a humor column for the Philadelphia paper about the children, and some books too about this house and the children. From them came my 86 cousins, many of whom raised children in this same little town so most people I see look familiar either because I knew their parents (or grandparents!!) in school or they are actually my cousin or second cousin or third cousin twice removed. I have not painted this house yet but might later. I will be painting at the Be Well cafe next week and throughout the summer. Not sure how often I will travel back and forth from the nice cool poconos to the much hotter valley around Philadelphia throughout the summer. Its about a two hour drive and since the whirlwind last week of travel and family, I need a little break before getting in the car. And my nice brother in law is fixing my breaks first anyway. So today is organization day!

The second show is up! My journey is in process. I wish I were more experienced in travel and change because it is overwhelming to have constantly new surroundings, new people, and new technology since my traveling comupter set up is finally working after many attempts at getting keyboard, website on ipad and rechargers working. Not figuring out how to upload a photo to this blog as yet but maybe today. Intermixed is a family runion and the beginning of a goodbye to my two favorite people in the world: my grandkids who are moving west next moonth. I am more than ever focused on getting to Calfironia at the end of a long art journey. But now I need to be on this part of the journey which is to set up camp at the art show in Be Well Cafe in Huntingdon Valley Pennsynlvania. This is the hangout in my old hometown where I plan to plant myself most mornings with my traveling computer and miniature painting kit. I hope to earn my spot in the cafe by buying snacks for friends who stop by to see my show. I always hated those people who sit all day in cafes without spending money. Not fair to the owners.
The owners of Be Well are a young couple with a baby and a wonderful array of healthy breakfast and lunch items. They very kindly offer their dark marron walls to artists to show their work free of charge. It dook five hours to hang the show, with lots of help from my grown children giving advice such as: Mom why don't you put your name on the signs for each painting! Hey, good idea!. Now that the whirlwind of getting settled is over, I hope to write this blog more often. My workshop on the 11th of July is coming up at Orchard Art Works in Bryn Athyn Pennsylvania, and then that afternoon, the opening of my Pennypack Roots show. at two at the Pennypack Waterched. Hope to see some of you there, since my sister in law is making some nice goodied to eat for that event!
